5 MOST EXPENSIVE FOOTBALL CLUBS IN THE WORLD REVEALED

Most football clubs in the world
Most expensive teams in the world of football.

Several European football clubs are considered the most expensive based on their squad values, revenues, and overall valuations. The primary factors contributing to their high valuations include substantial investments in player acquisitions, lucrative broadcasting deals, expansive global fan bases, and significant commercial revenues.

1. Chelsea FC

As of 2024, Chelsea has assembled the most expensive squad in European football history, with transfer costs totaling €1.656 billion. Since the acquisition by Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital in 2022, the club has signed 41 players. However, this significant investment has yet to translate into major successes on the pitch, with the team finishing sixth in the Premier League and currently occupying fifth place.

2. Real Madrid

Real Madrid has consistently been among the top clubs in terms of squad value and overall valuation. The club's strategy of acquiring high-profile players, combined with its global brand and commercial success, has contributed to its high valuation. In 2023, Real Madrid was valued at $6.07 billion, making it the most valuable football club globally.

3. Paris Saint-Germain (PSG)

PSG's valuation has soared due to significant investments from Qatar Sports Investments since 2011. The club has spent over €1.9 billion on player transfers, attracting superstars like Neymar and Kylian Mbappé. This financial backing has elevated PSG's status in European football, with the club valued at $4.212 billion in 2023.

4. Manchester City

Manchester City's financial strength stems from substantial investments by the Abu Dhabi United Group since 2008. The club's success on the pitch, coupled with its commercial growth, has led to a valuation of $4.99 billion in 2023.

5. Manchester United

Manchester United's global brand, extensive fan base, and lucrative commercial deals have maintained its high valuation over the years. In 2023, the club was valued at $6 billion, making it one of the most valuable football clubs worldwide.

These clubs' high valuations are primarily driven by their substantial revenues, which are bolstered by broadcasting rights, commercial partnerships, merchandise sales, and matchday revenues. Their ability to attract top talent and achieve success on the pitch further enhances their marketability and financial performance.

Carlos Baleba, Brighton midfielder told Liverpool transfer 'would suit him best' amid £50m deal talk

Carlos Baleba to Liverpool
Carlos Baleba against Liverpool at Anfield.

Brighton midfielder Carlos Baleba has been tipped as an ideal fit for Liverpool under incoming manager Arne Slot. The 21-year-old has been linked with a £50 million move away from the Amex Stadium after impressing since Fabian Hurzeler took charge last summer.

Liverpool and Chelsea are among the clubs reportedly interested in Baleba, who joined Brighton from Lille for £23 million in August 2023 and has since made 27 appearances this season.

Former Cameroon international Bernard Tchoutang believes Anfield would be the perfect destination for Baleba. He highlighted Liverpool’s attacking, high-pressing style and quick transitions as key reasons why the young midfielder would thrive under their system.

Tchoutang also pointed out that Liverpool has a strong track record of trusting young players and giving them responsibility, making it an ideal environment for Baleba’s development.

In contrast, Tchoutang expressed doubts about Chelsea as a suitable move for the Brighton star. While acknowledging Chelsea’s solid season, he suggested that the club remains a step below the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal.

Given Baleba’s talent and work ethic, Tchoutang is confident that the midfielder is ready to play for one of England’s top teams and can handle the pressure of a big move.

Although Baleba’s potential transfer fee is high, Tchoutang believes the player is mentally strong and well-supported by his family, ensuring he won’t be affected by financial aspects.

While staying at Brighton for another season wouldn’t be an issue, Tchoutang feels Baleba is ready for a move to a top club. With interest from some of the Premier League’s biggest teams, it’s clear that the midfielder has proven himself at the highest level.

Cameroon played only 4 matches with the highest ball possession but could not make it to the 8th finals of the competition while Nigeria had the worst ball possession but succeeded to play the finals of AFCON2023 with Ivory Coast but lost to the host nation. Ivory Coast sacked their coach and he was replaced by the 2nd local coach who managed to play the experienced players and won the competition. The black stars had clashes with the journalism team and the head coach and the next day the coach was sacked.

The South African Goalkeeper Ronwen Williams won the best goalie of the competition and being his first participation, he stopped 6 penalties. This has never happed in the history of AFRICAN football While the Nigerian central back Troos Ekong won best player of the competition but many opposes this claiming that the winner was supposed to be Fofana, the Ivorian central midfielder.

Match prediction by Nshing Rooney of NshingTv.

Young Emerse Fae of Ivory coast emerged the best coach of the competition. When the French coach Jean Louis Gasset was sacked, he took charge and staged a comeback to defend the last 2021 title holders Senegal and sent them packing.

Finally, teams like Mauritania, Namibia, Cape Vert, Equatorial Guinea, DRC Congo, Mali, Guinea and Gambia didn't smile with any bigger guns of the competition. Congratulations africa for such a beautiful competition without any form of cheating.

Pep Guardiola issues Andre Onana warning ahead of Manchester derby

Pep Guardiola sends a powerful message to fans about Andre Onana.

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has warned his players about the threat posed by Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana and his ability on the ball.

United are set to host City at Old Trafford on Sunday for the Manchester derby. Ahead of the clash, Guardiola spoke to the press and indicated that Onana is one of the players his side needs to watch out for despite the Cameroonian’s hard start to life in England.

Guardiola reflected on Onana’s sensational performance for Inter Milan in last season’s Champions League final against City.
The Spanish coach said, “Hopefully not [Onana does not replicate his UCL final performance], hopefully we can beat him, but before the game, I always expect the best of the players we are going to face.

I prefer to see what are their strengths than their weakness.”
“He saved a penalty in the last minute to help them stay in the race to qualify [for the #UCL knock-out stages] and it’s a good boost for them and for him.”

Guardiola opened up on the rivalry between City and United and explained that the Red Devils have always proved to be tough opponents irrespective of which manager is in the dugout.

David de Gea is set to return to football after signing for one of the biggest clubs in the world this morning

David De Gea’s new club
David De Gea

After leaving Man United in the summer, David de Gea is almost ready to play football again. Two teams in Spain are thinking about making moves for David de Gea, the goalkeeper who used to play for Manchester United.

During  summer, several clubs attempted to sign the 32-year-old Spanish star. Teams from the Saudi Pro League and Major League Soccer were very interested in him too, but David De Gea turned them down because he wanted to go back to Spain. An offer from his home country could be on the way, as Real Betis and Valencia are interested in the free agent.

The veteran goalie hasn’t had a job since Manchester United let him go in June. He has been working out on his own to stay in shape.

De Gea played at Old Trafford for 12 years, but his play has been getting worse over the last two seasons. This led Erik ten Hag to go out and get Andre Onana from Inter Milan.

Real Betis would be the better choice for De Gea because Seville’s club is in a bit of a crisis because Rui Silva is hurt and Claudio Bravo, who is 40, just got back from a long break. This means that the former Manchester United star could be much more reliable.

At Valencia, the 32-year-old would face tough competition from the young Georgian goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili and is not assured to start every week.

What do you think about this?

Don’t Blame Onana “Manchester United Fans” Blame Others not €47.7 Milion New Signee.

Andre Onana restless from a long goal into his net.

Manchester United fans have clipped the ears of Diogo Dalot for his role in Lens’ half-pitch lob over Andre Onana on his Old Trafford debut.

Lens attacker Florian Sotoca took advantage of Onana’s aggressive positioning after receiving the ball following Dalot’s poor pass in midfield. From the centre-circle, the striker immediately chipped the ball over the United goalkeeper and into the net on 35 minutes.

Onana was brought in to utilise his ball skills and Erik ten Hag consequently asks him to play high up the field. It’s something that was seen on debut against Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund during the tour of the US.

Onana was also lobbed against Madrid when Jude Bellingham scooped an effort into his net after Madrid broke United’s high defensive line. This time against Lens, the defence did not need to be broken.

The united shot-stopper had been cheered with every touch of the ball before the strike. The 27-year-old has been showing his ability with the ball at feet and was seen communicating to his defenders, most of which are likely to start against Wolves in the opening Premier League game.

However, Onana was left red-faced just over half an hour into his first home appearance but many fans directed the blame onto Dalot for his sloppy play. They argued that his loose ball meant Onana could do little about a strike that has to also be applauded for its accuracy.

Some United fans took to social media to react to the goal, deflecting blame away from new £47.7m arrival Onana.

The preseason ends soon and Manchester United first match will be played against Wolves.

Barcelona Ready to Sign Sofyan Amrabat From Florentina

Tranfer news as Amrabat prepares to join Barcelona
Sofyan Amrabat.

Sofyan Amrabat's incredible season has caught the attention of many of Europe's top clubs including the mighty Barcelona.

The Fiorentina midfielder, 26, has lost the final of Coppa Italia showpiece against Inter Milan 2-1 with goals by Lautaro Martinez 26 and 27th minutes respectively while Nicolas Gonzalez scored a 3rd minute goal for Fiorentina.

World Cup 2022 in Qatar and Amrabat of Morocco

This follows a World Cup campaign in which the tough tackler was one of the standout players in the tournament, inspiring Morocco to an unexpected semi-final appearance.

Ahead of La Viola's clash against Inter tonight, we explore the qualities that have made Amrabat Barca's top summer transfer target.

In a run which saw the Atlas Lions eliminate the likes of Belgium, Spain and Portugal, before providing a major test to France in the semis, the Fiorentina man stood out a mile.

Amrabat proved to be the perfect link between defence and attack. Not only does he possess the ability to win the ball, but he is a calming influence in possession.

He is also blessed with real pace. This was evident in the semi-final against Les Bleus, when he turned on the afterburners to win a foot race with Kylian Mbappe before producing a memorable recovery tackle.

It was no surprise that Amrabat found himself as a wanted man after such exploits.

Several teams were keen to sign him in January. A deal did not materialise, but if the anchorman was disappointed at the time, he will not be now.

In the second half of the season, Amrabat has been a key element in La Viola's quest for a famous cup double.

The LaLiga champions are in need of a player to replace legendary deep-lying playmaker Sergio Busquets, who will leave the club this summer.

Amrabat's agent Mohammed Sinouh recently confirmed that there was interest from both the Catalan giants and Manchester United in January.

Sinouh said: "We received many offers during the winter transfer window, including one from Manchester United, but we couldn’t finalise the deal.

"Barcelona? Fiorentina's president refused to sell him at that moment as he represented an added value after what he had done at the World Cup.

"We have no proposals for the summer, at least for the moment, but Fiorentina will listen. It's a promise they made after the president refused all offers in the winter transfer window."

That opens the door for other clubs to try and hijack the deal, with a number from the Premier League having previously been linked with Amrabat.

Aside from the Red Devils, Chelsea are also interested suitors while Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham have all been reported to admire the engine room operator.

Whatever happens in the two upcoming cup finals, Amrabat's days in Florence appear to be numbered.

Gianluigi Buffon Names Onana Among The World's Top 3 Goalkeepers

Gianluigi Buffon names 5 top goalkeepers in the world
Gianluigi Buffon in AC Milan.

Juventus legend and Italian former goalkeeper, Gianluigi Buffon, has included Inter Milan’s Andre Onana among the top three goalkeepers in the world.

Buffon also included AC Milan’s Mike Maignan in the list.

Speaking to Sky Italia, Buffon said, “Maignan is no surprise, he had already clearly demonstrated what he was able to do last year.

He added that “Onana inserted himself convincingly, he showed personality and broad shoulders to hold up a team like Inter and (Samir) Handanovic as a competitor. Note that Handanovic was completely replaced by Onana after a few seria A and Champions League matches.

“On the field, they deserved to be considered in the circle of the top 3 goalkeepers in the world and I don’t think I’m giving them anything by saying this.”

Onana recently helped Inter Milan to qualify for the Champions League final after putting in an impressive display against AC Milan.

The Cameroonian will hope to lead Inter to victory when they face Manchester City in the Champions League final in June.

Ronaldo and Leonel messi

Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo could rekindle their intense rivalry in the Saudi Arabian top flight next season, if reports are anything to go by. The Argentine maestro has been tipped to follow in the footsteps of his eternal rival by switching to the Middle East.

According to a report from Spanish outlet El Chiringuito TV (via Express), Lionel Messi has agreed to sign for Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal as he nears the end of his contract with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).

As per the report, the playmaker's contract with the Middle Eastern club would be worth a staggering £262 million per year, which would give him one of the most lucrative contracts in the history of the sport.

Al Hilal are reportedly determined to do every possible thing to ensure that they secure the Argentine's signature. They are said to be pulling the strings to snap up his former Barcelona teammates Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba and reunite the trio in Riyadh.

It appears that Leonel Messi has reached the end of the road in Paris. The Argentine has turned down multiple offers from the French club and is eager to be on the move this summer, with Al Hilal in prime position to snap him up.

Should Messi end up joining the Saudi Arabian side, he could reignite his rivalry with Christiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese icon left Manchester United following his controversial interview with British broadcaster Piers Morgan and ended up joining Al Nassr in the winter transfer window.

How Cameroon’s Aboubakar evaded the off-side trap to score the most outrageous goal of the 2022 World Cup against Serbia in Doha, Qatar.

Aboubakar Vincent
Aboubakar Vincent few mins after scoring the best goal of 2022 world cup in Qatar against Serbia.

Cameroon’s Aboubakar evaded the off-side trap to score the most outrageous goal of the 2022 World Cup against Serbia in Doha, Qatar.

Cameroon's Vincent Aboubakar scores their second goal (REUTERS)

Perhaps, it was also the foreboding about it was going to be offside that made him go for the flamboyant finish. Maybe not. As his past reveals he is more than capable of producing such dreamy flourishes.

Cameroon’s Vincent Aboubakar who as a kid was a very good goalkeeper and who grew up to make goalies look like fools, has just scooped the ball. The shock is about to erupt in the face of Vanja, the tonsured-head and magnificently bearded Serbian goalkeeper. Between them, Nemanja Maksimovic, was sprawled on the ground on his back, about to twist his face behind to see Aboubakar’s trick shot.

It’s a lovely photo from Reuters’ Marko Djurica perfectly capturing the artist and the men he had for breakfast. At that frame of action, all three also must have felt they knew the outcome – that it would be an offside even if the unthinkable happened. Aboubakar doesn’t even celebrate the most outrageous goal of the world cup. Maksimovic would get up and nonchalantly acknowledge the raised flag of the linesman. So would Vanja. But the VAR would catch what the naked eye couldn’t.

A few seconds ago, when Aboubakar, who loves reading metaphysics and philosophy, began his run from the top of the Serbian half, it had seemed like a clear offside. The commentator on world feed would even voice the viewers’ inner thoughts: Clear offside. But Nikola Milenkovic, raised by a single mother, a teacher, would do a schoolboyish error of dawdling for a fraction of a second longer to allow Aboubakar to escape the off-side trap. Not that Aboubakar knew it then.

Still, the three professionals would do what professionals do. Aboubakar would commit himself to the run and the finish. Maksimovic, a modern box-to-box capable midfielder, would commit to chasing him down. Vanja, whose brother Serjej was up ahead in Cameroon’s half, would also commit himself to rush ahead to try to stop Aboubakar. Three men rushing towards a beautiful football moment.

At what point did Aboubakar decide it was time to unfurl the scoop? Hearing the frenetic approach of Maksimovic at the last instant, he back heels the ball, and much like a scene from the 80’s German Tv series, Dieter Hallervoden’s ‘Didi’s comedy show’, Maksimovic would go sliding on the green grass to nowhere. He had thrown in the slide as a last-gasp effort to tackle Aboubakar, but sliced through thin air, ending up flat on his back staring at the Doha sky.

Son of a deaconess for the Evangelical Missionary Society of Cameroon, who died in 2020, Aboubakar has a fascination for the subconscious and spirituality. “The most important thing for a person should be his spiritual elevation. The more spiritually elevated you are, the easier it is for you to comprehend certain things,” he once told New Frame. “There are books which, when you read them, you’re more enlightened. One of my favorite books is The Power of Your Subconscious Mind by Joseph Murphy.” Something clicked in his subconscious as he was faced with the sprawled out defender and the tonsured Vanja.

Eto In Trouble - Eto Organized Balloon D’Or But Minister of Sports Didn’t Attend

Eto organize Balloon d’or Cameroon
Samuel Eto, FECAFOOT president and Kombi Mouelle Sports and Physical education minister of Cameroon.

The Minister of Sports and Physical Education Narcisse Mouelle Kombi was conspicuously absent during the Ballon D'Or Award ceremony organised by FECAFOOT. His  absence has been a controversial subject on media platforms.

By snubbing FECAFOOT's invitation, there is an inkling that the two bodies have a stale relationship which are aimed at growing Cameroon’s soccer.

Remember, Samuel Eto'o and Narcisse Mouelle Kombi had distanced themselves from each other due a long-standing rift over the selection of the National team coach. Narcisse Mouelle Kombi wanted Antonio Conceicao's contract to be prolonged while Eto'o wanted Rigobert Song.

No news outlet has said anything concerning the absence of Moelle except the junior brother of Mouelle who has been online criticising Eto.

The International Federation (Fifa) has sanctioned the selection of Senegal for the incidents of March 29 during the second leg against Egypt (1-0, 3-1 on pens) in qualifying for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar (November 21 – 18 december). The Teranga Lions were sentenced to a match behind closed doors, and the Federation fined 170,866 euros, about 900 million fcfa.

The consequences of a turbulent match in the stands with in particular the throwing of objects, the use of lasers and smoke bombs as well as an “offensive” banner according to Fifa. The penalty shootout was marked by the presence of many lasers pointed at the faces of the players especially Mohamad Salah.

The Algerian Federation was also ordered to pay a fine of 2,929 euros, due to the lighting of smoke bombs and the throwing of objects during its elimination in the play-off against Cameroon (1-2, ap), on 29 March in Blida.

These sanctions do not however prejudge a possible sporting decision, after the Algerian appeal asking Fifa to replay the match because of the “scandalous arbitration”, according to the Algerian Federation, of the Gambian Bakary Gassama. While they thought they would qualify following Touba’s equalizer (118th), the Fennecs were taken aback by Toko Ekambi’s goal in the 120th + 4.

Yesterday the Algerians residing in Europe protested again in view of a match replay for Qatar 2022.
