Fulbright Scholarship at the University of Missouri.

The University of Missouri and the Fulbright Commission are inviting applications for Fulbright university of  Missouri Journalism scholarship in the United States of America. Belgian or Luxembourg citizens are eligible to apply for this scholarship program.

The Fulbright is a sponsored program by the US government playing a major rule in international education and training.

About The Scholarship

Application: The deadline for the scholarship is December 30, 2018.

Course Level: The scholarship is available for mid-career professionals

Study Subject: The scholarship is awarded in the field of journalism.

Scholarship Award: Grantees receive $3000 per month for four months and an additionak one-time travel stipend.

Number of schoarships: The number of scholarships is not known.

Nationality: Belgian or Luxembourgish citizens can apply and the scholarship to be taken in the United States.

Who Is Eligible For The Scholarship

Entrance Requirements: The following criteria must be met in order for applicants to be eligible for the scholarship;

1. The Fulbright Commission and the University of Missouri scholarship are offering a scholarship for a mid-term career professionals with at least 5 years experience in Journalism.
2. By mid August 2019 and mid-December 2019, grantees will receive the opportunity to audit two classes at the Missouri Journalism school and to participate in guest lecturers and round table discussions with students and scholars. Grantees are allowed to choose seminars and courses to audit from the available courses offered during the semester. Grantees receive $3000/month for four months plus an additional one-time travel stipend.

English Language Requirements

Applicants must demonstrate sufficient English Language proficiency to conduct research in the US (You must not necessary submit a TOEFL)

How To Apply

Interested candidates must complete an online application. The application deadline is the 30th of December, 2018. Candidates will be asked to provide

• Biography information
• American CV
• Transcripts and diplomas from must recent degree
• 3-5 page single-spaced project statement
• Three recommendation letters to be uploaded in the online application

Incomplete applications will not be considered for an award.

The applications are to be completed entirely online. No papers should be mailed to our office. Applicants need to apply for the Fulbright University of Missouri Journalism only and not the University of Missouri.

Candidates with powerful completed applications will be invited to the commission on the 1st of February, 2019 for an interview in English.

For interviews, candidates will be expected to demonstrate their academic proposal in simple terms, your plans when you arrive the US, motivations for the course, how you will improve US-Belgian relationship on return. 

The interview will be exercised by American and Belgian professors, professionals, government officials and Fulbright alumni from various fields.

African Player Of The Year 2018: Top 10 Finalists Already Known

African Player of the year 2017 award ceremony.

The first list 2018 African player of the year composed of 34 players but yesterday 14th December the list was reduced to 10 by CAF (Confederation of African Football) for the successor of Mohamed Salah.
There is a big surprise that Kalidou Koulibaly considered as the best central defender in the world is not among same with the Liverpool(Guinean) Naby Keita.

There are lots of controversies on who will carry the day between the top rivals of the Egyptian Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane of Senegal. The third option among the group is Emerick Aubameyang who plays for his national team Gabon and Liverpool.

The Top rivals this season have played the champions league finals though there is a higher probability on The Egyptian M Salah but Sadio may still create a genuine record on the day of the official voting.

Paul Biya: 289 Anglophones Detained To Be Released From 5 Prisons In The Country

President of the Republic of Cameroon, H.E Paul Biya.

Paul Biya decree the release of 289 Anglophone detainees in 5 prisons in Cameroon.
The minister of defense, in charge of the head of state's decision decree to release 289 persons detained following the anglophone crisis. These detainees are distributed in 5 prisons nationwide.

It was at 8:13 pm that the president of the republic of Cameroon, Paul Biya tweeted" I have ordered the discontinuance of proceedings pending before the Military Tribunals against 289 detainees-arrested for misdemeanours, in connection with the crisis in the North West and South West Regions of the Country"

According to the minister of defense communique on the night of the 13th December 2018 at 8:13 pm. Out of the 289, 16 are detained in the Bafoussam Prison, 49 at the Bamenda Central Prison, 99 in Buea prison, 14 at the New-Bell Douala and 120 in Yaounde.

According to Beti Assomo, the list of the Two-hundred and eighty-nine persons shall be published on the 14 December, 2018.
The minister delegate in charge of defense reiterate that this decision only concerns the persons whom they have undergone detailed examination of their documents at the military jurisdiction and the gravity of their case is relative.

It doesn't include criminals, assassins and other dangerous terrorists as well as the commands and those who planned for the anglophone crises in the North West and South West Regions of Cameroon "Beti Joseph Assomo".

Many activists have criticize the creation of commissions by the head of state, Paul Biya calling the commissions a waist of energy but a need for inclusive dialogue between the two parties.

More than 200 military have been killed and about 500 civilians and thousands of home burn't in the two Cameroon English speaking Cameroon according to international Crisis Groups with 50000 displaced in Neighboring Countries and more than 350000 internally.

The international community have urge Biya for dialogue but he is reluctant for an inclusive dialogue while the economy and political atmosphere keeps depreciating.

Biya has been in power since 1982 and was recently elected for his 7th term in office last October, 2018 giving him 36 years in power in this Central African nation.

This man decided to lower the volume of his TV set to read a text message.

He polished his clean brown shoe to take an American visa lottery passport photo.

Oku man:
 He climbed a mango tree to check if the mango was ripe enough then came down and started stoning it.

Bakwerri man:
A man who chose to drink Fanta because he thought sprite was unripe.

He saw something that looked like shit, touched and tasted and said "Hmmm" na shit ooo!!! Thank God I no match.

Last Message Of the CAF President to Biya On The CAN 2019 Hosting Right

CAF president's last message to pesident Paul Biya.

This was the last message of the Caf president Amed Amed to Biya on the withdrawn hosting rights of Cameroon during their meeting in Accra on the 30th of November, 2018.

His Excellency, with the honor and respect i address this letter to you at the same time when the Caf executive committee is holding an extra ordinary meeting in Accra and have decided to withdraw the hosting of the CAN 2019 rights from Cameroon.
I wish to appreciate your efforts Mr President and the CAF and her executive committee will be very sincere to inform you that Cameroon can still host the 2021 AFCON.

This edition i think will permit Cameroon to accomplish with comfort, the security, the infrastructural projects envisaged for the competition.

I still assure you that the CAN will be yours and will put all my effort to accompany Cameroon on this historic and noble mission.

I take this opportunity to thank you for the fraternity and warm visits you paid to me during my visits in Cameroon.

Local analysts have concluded that the African cup of Nations could not have taken place in Cameroon but due to security reasons. Infrastructure in terms of stadia wasn't a course. CAF didn't want what happened in Cabinda, Angola to repeat itself.

Cameroon on the other hand could not host the game because of poor road and hotel infrastructure even in its main cities of Douala and Yaounde. Almost all the stadia were complete and only needed the green turf to kick off in June 2019.

The hosting rights of Ivory Coast 2021 have now been given to Cameroon but Ivory Coast is not accepting calling it a joke. Cameroon though second on his group may not qualify for the AFCON 2019 according to CAF rules when a country is unable to host a nation cup.
