Last Message Of the CAF President to Biya On The CAN 2019 Hosting Right

CAF president's last message to pesident Paul Biya.

This was the last message of the Caf president Amed Amed to Biya on the withdrawn hosting rights of Cameroon during their meeting in Accra on the 30th of November, 2018.

His Excellency, with the honor and respect i address this letter to you at the same time when the Caf executive committee is holding an extra ordinary meeting in Accra and have decided to withdraw the hosting of the CAN 2019 rights from Cameroon.
I wish to appreciate your efforts Mr President and the CAF and her executive committee will be very sincere to inform you that Cameroon can still host the 2021 AFCON.

This edition i think will permit Cameroon to accomplish with comfort, the security, the infrastructural projects envisaged for the competition.

I still assure you that the CAN will be yours and will put all my effort to accompany Cameroon on this historic and noble mission.

I take this opportunity to thank you for the fraternity and warm visits you paid to me during my visits in Cameroon.

Local analysts have concluded that the African cup of Nations could not have taken place in Cameroon but due to security reasons. Infrastructure in terms of stadia wasn't a course. CAF didn't want what happened in Cabinda, Angola to repeat itself.

Cameroon on the other hand could not host the game because of poor road and hotel infrastructure even in its main cities of Douala and Yaounde. Almost all the stadia were complete and only needed the green turf to kick off in June 2019.

The hosting rights of Ivory Coast 2021 have now been given to Cameroon but Ivory Coast is not accepting calling it a joke. Cameroon though second on his group may not qualify for the AFCON 2019 according to CAF rules when a country is unable to host a nation cup.
