The 2018 Top universities in Cameroon is made up of both Public and Private universities. Fly4studiesCameroon classified only the top 15 universities during our 2018 classing. A good number of National polytechnics and vocational schools were not considered.

During the classification, a good number of factors were considered like, research, online training, accreditation, and the quality of education these institutions offer. It was also considered on universities offering three years undergraduate, two years Masters and Doctorate. The universities at the top are there because they have an international vision and enough funds to build a powerful research and hands-on training.
The list is flooded by public universities though very crowdy, many student from both popular and poor backgrounds prefer them, creating a large class-room which at times very uncomfortable for the rich who prefer private universities and colleges.

In Cameroon, public Anglosaxon universities are almost like private universities because their class sizes are well respected related to other factors, like follow up of students, training model, beautiful and clean campuses that draw the likes of international students all over the world. We have the University of Buea and the University of Bamenda. Their language of instruction is English.

There are two bilingual universities of the University of Yaounde I and the University of Dschang whose languages of instruction are both French and English though 80 percent of the courses in these universities will be offered in French depending on the course.
